Animal Law Cell

“I am in favour of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of whole human being” – Abraham Lincoln

A real inclusive society would be the one which nurtures not only the diversity amongst human beings but one which concerns itself with the cause of ‘living beings’. A diverse perception of inclusiveness demands that the legal system should shift its focus from mere ‘human beings’ to ‘living beings’.

The students and the faculty members at the ILS believe in nurturing such inclusive society. As a first step to help fulfill the dream of such inclusive society a group of students initiated an idea to establish Animal Law Cell in the academic year 2015- 2016. This initiative is the brainchild of students of ILS Law College fostered and guided by the faculty.

Aim and Objects

The object of the Cell is to create awareness about animal laws and to sensitize people about animal rights and animal welfare by means of meeting/discussions on a weekly basis, on ground activities, other modes such as research projects, guest lectures etc.
