Dr. Nitish Nawsagaray

B.S.L. LL.M., Ph. D. (Law)

Dr. Nawsagaray has over two decades of teaching experience in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and  Jurisprudence, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He holds an LL.M. and a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Pune, and has previously served in various academic leadership roles, including Principal and Vice-Principal at reputed law colleges.

He is a member of the Academic Council and Chairman, Board of Studies (Law) at the Savitribai Phule Pune University. Dr. Nawsagaray has designed syllabi for LL.B., B.A.LL.B., and LL.M. programs for Savitribai Phule Pune University, and has also contributed to curriculum reform at the doctoral level. A widely-published scholar, his work spans issues of criminal justice, caste and gender, human rights, and legal theory, with publications in several peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, and national dailies.

 He was also been invited as a resource person at various international conferences, including the Harvard India Conference (2019) and the Annual Law and Society Conference (2022) held at Lisbon, Portugal.
