The Human Rights Cell at ILS Law College, established in 2008-09 under the guidance of Justice S. Rajendra Babu, former Chief Justice of India and Chairman, National Human Rights Commission, has always been at the forefront of meaningful dialogue on human rights issues.

This year, the panel discussion focuses on the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and its implications on due process and justice. The discussion will critically analyse how the stringent provisions of UAPA challenge fundamental rights such as the right to a fair trial, presumption of innocence, and protection against arbitrary detention.

  • Adv. Rohan Nahar (Bombay High Court, Member of CIArb)
  • Adv. Chandni Chawla (Bombay High Court)
