Online Autonomous Certificate Program on ‘Criminal Law: Practice and Procedure’: 10-12 February 2026


The Indian Law Society was established in 1923, with the sole purpose of imparting quality legal education. The Society has set up a program known as ‘Towards Conscious Legal Education’(TCLE). Under this program, we offer various diploma and certificate programs. These certificate/diploma programs are in line with the mission of the Indian Law Society to provide legal education on scientific basis. With this initiative, the Indian Law Society launches an Online Autonomous Certificate program on ‘Criminal Law: Practice and Procedure’ to address the Current Criminal Law Procedure relevant to process before trials, during trials and after trials.

 This Program will enable participants to understand and appreciate finer practical aspects of criminal procedure, principles underlying these aspects, and use of these provisions and principles in pre-trial, pleadings, and trial proceedings, and post-trial proceedings.

Program Content:

Pre-Trial Procedure:

  • Nature of offences
  • FIR
  • Investigation
  • Arrest, Custody, Bail, anticipatory bail,

Trial Procedure:

  • Framing of charges
  • Leading evidence
  • Perjury:
  • Trial of private complaint:
  • Sentence, suspension of sentence, execution, stay of conviction,
  • Tender of Pardon & Quashing of Trial

Post Trial Procedure:

  • Appeal and Revision- Difference
  • Powers of Court in Appeal and Revision
  • Probation and Parole
Who can enroll Law students (IV year of BALLB, BBALLB and II LLB onwards), Advocates
Duration 3 days (5:00 pm to 7:00 pm)
Resource Persons Renowned practicing lawyers
Registration 26 January to 9 February 2026
Certification Certificates will be issued after attending all the sessions and filing the feedback form
Payment Mode Online. Only through Direct SBI, Net Banking and Credit Card. Debit Cards payments are not acceptable.
