About ILSCA:
The Indian Law Society’s Centre for Arbitration & Mediation (ILSCA) an unit of the Indian Law Society is a neutral, independent, non-profit centre, established to facilitate the impartial administration of arbitration and mediation proceedings.
ILSCA also conducts various training programmes and courses in the field of ADR for the benefit of Law students and professionals from all disciplines, to train them in the skills of Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods – like Arbitration and Mediation.
About the Course:
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) has become a primary method as against litigation for resolving disputes in various fields, including trade, commerce, business, and family matters. Recognizing its importance, legal professionals and educators emphasize comprehensive ADR training as essential for modern law practice. Effective conflict resolution skills are critical for preventing destructive conflicts and managing disputes.
To meet this demand, the Indian Law Society’s Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (ILSCA), Pune offers skills-intensive training programs. These programs aim to develop expertise in negotiation, mediation, mediation advocacy, arbitration, and related fields. This certificate course aims to provide a brief skeleton as to how arbitration proceeding and Mediation Proceedings are conducted with the help of the law applicable to domestic and International commercial arbitration in India and also a glimpse of how mediation is conducted. The programme has been designed for students as well as working professionals – not merely restricted to the field of law – to enhance their knowledge of the process and intricacies of domestic arbitration in India. This year ILSCA has designed thirteen modules – which will try and enwrap major aspects of Arbitration and Mediation. The sessions are expected to be interactive sessions.

Evaluation & Certification | Participants will be assessed for their attendance and score in the online examination: On obtaining a Minimum 75% attendance, and a minimum score of 50% in the online examination the participants will be declared as successfully completing the program and will be awarded the certificate by ILSCA. |

Learning Outcome:
The objectives of the course are:
- To create awareness about the importance of arbitration as ADR methods
- To trace the growth, development, and importance of Arbitration movement in India
- To provide a good basic knowledge of Arbitration and International Commercial Arbitration
Eligibility:
- Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Engineers,
- All professionals or persons who have undergone graduate-level education are eligible for enrolment in this program
- Graduate of any recognized University in any discipline;
- Candidates pursuing three-year law course are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have completed three years of their 5-year integrated LLB Degree programme in Law are also eligible to apply.
