Course on “Women, Gender and Law”

Women’s Studies Center, ILS Law College in collaboration with the Department of Law, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, is organizing a Course “Women, Gender and Law” from 14th to 25th January 2019 between 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm. 20 students from UNSW are coming to ILS to participate in this course.

The Course will cover various Feminist Theories and application of these theories to issues such as violence against women, marriage and family, sex selective abortion, surrogacy, LGBTIQ, political participation, economic empowerment etc.

On 19th January a field visit to SNEHALAYA at Ahmednagar is organized. There is another field visit to KAGAD KANCH PATRA, local NGO.

Assessment will be based on Assignment (80 marks) and Class participation(20 marks). A joint certificate from ILS and UNSW will be awarded on successfully completing the Course. The students must attend 100% classes and field visits. Certificate will be given only if all the components are complied with (All Classes,Field Visits and Assignment).

Dr. Christine Forster, Dr. Jaya Sagade along with guest faculty are the facilitators.

Seats are limited. ONLY 20 STUDENTS from ILS will be selected.

Fees for the Course – 4000 only. (Inclusive of reading material, tea during the course and field visit.)

Interested students shall apply before 20th December 2018. List of selected students will be announced on 27thDecember 2018. Selected students shall pay the fees before 31st December 2018.

Note: Students should take note that no attendance credit will be given on the day of visit to Snehalaya at Ahmednagar.
