About ILSCA
The ILS Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (ILSCA) was established on 3rd December 2016 by the Governing Council of the Indian Law Society (ILS). This Centre is established with the sole purpose of providing facilities for ad-hoc and institutional arbitration, both in domestic as well as international commercial arbitration. The management of ILS thought it to be fit to establish the Centre to facilitate arbitration. ILSCA is a first-of-its-kind arbitral institution in India, attached to an educational establishment, Indian Law Society. ILSCA is a neutral, independent, non-profit organization, which will facilitate the impartial administration of arbitration proceedings. Indian Law Society has undertaken construction of a designated building for the purposes of conducting arbitration, which proposes to have a state-of-the-art infrastructure.
About the Course:
ADRMs programme is introduced to train lawyers and law students and any other interested persons to learn different Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods that are being used to resolve disputes. The ADR methods are used as an alternative to the process of litigation. This process is non adversarial. ADR methods facilitate parties to deal with the disputes in a more cost-effective manner and with increased efficacy. In addition, these processes have the advantage of providing parties with the opportunity to reduce hostility, regain a sense of control, gain acceptance of the outcome, resolve conflict in a peaceful manner, and achieve a greater sense of justice in each individual case. The resolution of disputes takes place usually in private and is more viable, economic, and efficient. The Alternative Dispute Resolution Method has proven to be one the most efficacious mechanisms to resolve commercial disputes of an international nature.
