Indian Law Society’s Centre for Arbitration & Mediation (ILSCA)

(An Initiative of the Indian Law Society)

Invitation to ILS Law College Students to Witness Arbitral and Mediation Proceedings

The Indian Law Society’s Centre for Arbitration & Mediation (ILSCA), a unit of the Indian Law Society, has been established to facilitate and administer arbitration and mediation proceedings. Many arbitrators, lawyers, and clients utilize ILSCA’s facilities for conducting ad hoc arbitrations. Notably, the Hon’ble High Court of Mumbai has recently referred matters to be conducted under the ILSCA Institutional Arbitration Rules. Furthermore, ILSCA is accredited by the Mumbai Mediation Centre as an Institutional Mediation Centre, and certain medications are referred to ILSCA by the High Court of Mumbai.

In addition to providing dispute resolution services, ILSCA actively contributes to the development of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) by conducting training programs and courses for law students and professionals from various disciplines. These initiatives aim to enhance skills in arbitration, mediation, and other ADR mechanisms.

To provide practical exposure and enhance understanding of arbitration and mediation, ILSCA invites students of ILS Law College to witness ongoing arbitral and mediation proceedings conducted at ILSCA. This is a valuable opportunity for students to gain firsthand insight into the functioning of ADR mechanisms in practice.

Students of ILS Law College studying in Second Year/ Third Year of LL.B. and Fourth Year / Fifth Year of B.A.LL.B. who wish to witness arbitral/mediation proceedings are requested to submit their applications in the prescribed format provided by ILSCA.

Applications should be submitted to ILSCA through Dr. Deepa Paturkar, Principal, ILS Law College, Pune.

For any further queries, students may contact the ILSCA office or their coordinators.
